More than three decades ago, Paul landed his first full-time job as a reporter, working for “Traffic World,” a weekly trade magazine covering the transportation industry. In the years since, he’s worked for some of the premier brands in business journalism, including CNN, The Economist Group, CFO Magazine and Bloomberg News.

Paul has also worked as a consultant providing a variety of editorial services including content marketing, content strategy, business journalism and marketing communications.

His clients have included Daily Fintech, IndustryDive, the Bank Insurance and Securities Association, Penton, IDG, UBM, New York Times Co., Chimes.org, BNY Mellon, Central Desktop, Services for the Underserved, HSBC and Mass Mutual.

Paul is the creator of “The Conley Index,” a trademarked system to measure content quality that’s been used to train journalists at dozens of B2B brands.

Kapost named him one of “25 Journalists to Watch in Content Marketing” and Paul is the only person to serve twice as keynote speaker for the American Society of Business Publication Editors.

He has experience and expertise in writing about retailing, data, the food/agriculture/restaurant industries, transportation, banking/finance and global trade.
